When I think of Alta in the summer I think of unwrapping presents at the holidays. As the snow melts, the true majesty of the mountains is revealed: Breathtaking granite cliffs; beautiful meadows covered in wild flowers; the peacefulness that can only be found in the mountains; and a menagerie of wildlife including mountain goats, golden eagles, moose and marmots. I know Alta and Little Cottonwood Canyon, it has been my home for more than 25 years, yet I am humbled each and every year, when I witness the transformation from winter to spring into summer. These mountains have a soul that many experience in the winter but few in the summer. Maybe its time to think about Alta in the summer?
